If you never experienced the Bethesda's action horror game, Ghostwire Tokyo, then you're in luck, because as much as you've missed out on a wonderfully eerie game with unique gameplay mechanics built around psychic powers, you also now have an opportunity to get it for just $7 in the latest Fanatical bundle. While much more action-oriented than developer Tango Gameworks' earlier release, The Evil Within, it's one that fans of the genre won't want to miss.
horror games. The soundtrack perfectly complements the spooky vibes (give it a listen on YouTube), and you have the option of enjoying the game with either an English or Japanese cast of voice actors, both of whom give a fantastic performance.
The game sees a supernatural force leave the once bustling streets of Tokyo deserted. The recreation of Tokyo is visually impressive, allowing players to go on a virtual tour of the neon city, with lots of eerie trappings. With a lush sprinkling of pathetic fallacy, it rains a lot during the game, leaving you to wander the dark and moody streets alone while fighting ghosts and collecting souls.

"But how come you didn't disappear with everyone else?" I hear you screaming. Well, you play as young Akito, a man imbued with the shadowy figure known as KK… who also gives you fantastical powers. This paves the way for unique combat mechanics that let you literally point a magical finger at the enemy, unleashing supernatural attacks.
In our Ghostwire Tokyo review, Nic Rueben said, "exploring and fighting your way through Tango's eerie, detailed rendition of Shibuya is where Ghostwire: Tokyo shines." He also added, "Ghostwire boasts Tango's most arresting and creative environmental manipulation to date." It's a game with a unique visual identity that has to be seen in action to be properly appreciated.
There are also a bunch of side quests and collectibles along the way. From Tanoki hunts to visiting nekomata! (Nekomata are cats that, in Japanese folklore, have two tails and gained spiritual powers.) There are plenty of customisable clothing options too, so you can be a badass and look good while doing it. There are plenty of trimmings to keep you occupied.
