Where is the MH Wilds Gillopod? If you've come this far, catching this rather large specimen of endemic life shouldn't be an issue once you know where to look. You might also score a handy crafting material.
Once you've handed in the quest and collected your reward, it's likely time to get back into the fight. Check out our Monster Hunter Wilds weapons to influence your next switch.
How to find the MH Wilds Gillopod
You can find Gillopod climbing the walls between Area 1 and Area 2 of the Ruins of Wyveria.
If you're struggling to spot the Gillopod, note that they're simply larger (and slightly lighter) versions of the Pillopod you may have caught already. Look for large rectangular critters resembling pillbugs. They're typically found slowly climbing walls and objects teeming with environmental energy.
There are also reports that Gillopods prefer the morning and Wyvern's Tranquility events. We didn't find any at nighttime.
Use a nearby pop-up camp to change the conditions to suit your search if you've unlocked the ability to do so. If not, just kill time gathering items, hunting other monsters, or using the Monster Hunter Wilds fast travel system to jump between zones.
Once you spot a Gillopod, get in close and use the Capture Net attachment for your slinger to nab the little creepy-crawly. If you're on the quest, take the creature back to Dareel for a humble reward of Gloamgrass and Honey. Netting a Gillopod can sometimes reward you with a Lightcrystal.
What do I do with a Gillopod?
Caught a Gillopod and not sure where to take it? The Gillopod in Monster Hunter Wilds is a quest condition for Dareel. He's a character who periodically challenges the hunter to find rare endemic life using the Capture Net.
The Gillopod quest should become available at the start of chapter 5. Use our Monster Hunter Wilds quest list to find out how far you are through the main story. Once you reach that point and have completed his other quests, head back to Dareel to grab this one.
As you approach the endgame and dive into multiplayer content, consider Monster Hunter Wilds codes to pick a famous face. It won't get you any more loot after a hunt, but you might make someone's day.
