This Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 leak appears to reveal when the new GPU will be out

According to this new graphics card leak, the $299 Nvidia gaming GPU release is set for the middle of May 2025, just before Computex.

A new leak claims to have lifted the lid on when the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 will be released, and the rumored date isn't far away now. So far, Nvidia has only announced that the new $299 gaming GPU will be out in May 2025, but this latest leak appears to nail down a specific day, and it's well before the end of the month.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is priced competitively.

This latest leak comes from tech website Videocardz, which claims it can confirm that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 will launch on Monday, May 19, 2025. That's just before the Computex tradeshow kicks off in Taiwan. However, bear in mind that this date is still very much in rumor territory, as Nvidia hasn't announced an official release date for the new GPU itself, other than saying it will be in May.

The site claims that Nvidia has confirmed this launch date to "board partners who have received updated embargo details," and that reviews of the new GPU will be appearing on the same day as the launch date. As always with leaks, though, it's worth taking this information with a hefty grain of salt for the moment.

Nvidia has officially confirmed most of the RTX 4060 – a 25% increase, in fact. The company also says it will come with 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM attached to a 128-bit memory interface, while the GPU will have a boost clock of 2.5GHz.

While it's good to see an increase in rendering power over the RTX 4060, the lack of VRAM could hurt the RTX 5060 at this price. As I found in my RTX 5060 Ti review, having just 8GB of VRAM really limits the settings you can enable in some of the latest demanding games, and Nvidia would arguably have been better off kitting out the RTX 5060 with 12GB of VRAM using 3GB GDDR7 memory chips – that's perhaps a configuration we'll see in the future.
