RollerCoaster Tycoon World has had a pretty rough ride in Early Access, with around double the amount of negative reviews to its positive impressions, leaving it with a "mostly negative" rating on Steam. Let's say it hasn't been a walk in the park.
Keep track of the new releases with our PC games list.
Most of the reviews point to bugs and issues with the AI. Many of them even suggest other players instead buy Planet Coaster, another theme park sim from Elite: Dangerous studio Frontier Developments.
Now RollerCoaster Tycoon World is releasing the day before Planet Coaster, which suggests publishers Atari are perhaps hoping to gobble up eager park simmers who can't wait an extra day.
That means RollerCoaster Tycoon World is now releasing on November 16, the day before Planet Coaster's November 17 launch.
This follows an Early Access period of seven months, which saw the addition of a piece-by-piece builder, progression system, updated peeps, and a new interface, among other improvements. To celebrate this progress, Atari are… lowering the price.
Instead of paying the $49.99 for the Early Access version, the Standard Edition of the full release will set you back $34.99. It's all very strange.
Cheers, PCGamer.
