If you're in need of a storage upgrade for your gaming PC or gaming laptop, but you don't want to mess around with swapping out the drive you're already using, this Samsung SSD deal could be perfect for you. It gets you a huge 2TB capacity with speeds that are easily fast enough for loading games, all connected via a simple USB-C port.
While the Samsung drive proving fantastic for loading games and transferring files in lightning quick time.
This offer isn't for the Samsung T9 but instead the older Samsung T7, but it's still a very fast option. Rated to provide a sequential read speed of up to 1,050MB/s, this is still plenty enough to ensure that when loading games, it's almost certainly going to be other factors that are the bottleneck, not your storage.
Along with fast read speed, this drive can also be written to in a flash, with a rated sequential write speed of 1,000MB/s. That means that as long as the drive is connected to a fast enough USB port, you can transfer a 1GB file to it in little more than a second.
As to that USB connection, it is rated to USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds and comes with a short 1ft cable for connecting to your PC at this high speed. You can get longer cables of this speed but the short option is enough for most setups. If you do need a longer cable, though, just be wary of buying longer cables that aren't rated to this full speed – you'll be wanting one rated to at least 10Gbps, such as this one available on Amazon.
As well as being fast, the Samsung T7 is compact, light, and tough. It measures just 3.3 x 2.2 x 0.3 inches (84 x 56 x 7.6mm) and weighs just 2.08oz (60g). The drive isn't actually ruggedized as such but its smart silver casing can stand up to plenty of drops (or at least my one has). You can also get a ruggedized version, known as the Samsung T7 Shield too, available via this link.
To grab this fantastic SSD deal, just head on over to Amazon via this link where you can get this drive for just $129.99. That's the lowest price it has been since mid-2023. Other capacities are available but this 2TB model is the standout bargain. Buyers in the UK can also get this drive here at a decent price of £144, even if it's not the absolute lowest we've seen it recently.
