One of the finest uses of Game Workshop's sprawling sci-fi universe to date is Warhammer 40k: Space Marine. Created during an era where third-person action games like Gears of War, Uncharted, and Dead Space were massively popular, Relic Entertainment departed from its usual focus on making RTS classics like Homeworld, Company of Heroes, and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War to create a shooter starring a squad of Ultramarines. Though its sequel, Space Marine 2, only came out last year, players interested in checking out the first entry to the series can now do so through a full remaster of the 2011 project, out today.
The remastered version of action-adventure game without drastically overhauling what already works well in the original version of an already solid shooter. The new Master Crafted Edition features improved character models and textures, tweaked interface and controls, as well as improved audio and for 4k resolution.
It maintains Space Marine's foundation, though. The highlight is its campaign, which follows the Space Marine Titus and his squad as they fight against overwhelming numbers of enemy Orks in an attempt to save a planet. There's also the return of its solid multiplayer mode, which has been updated now to include cross-play. The remaster packs in all of the DLC made for the original, too, including a variety of maps and skins.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition is out now on Steam for $39.99 USD / £34.99. Grab a copy right here.
