Ahead of The First Descendant Season 3, Nexon its there's "not much to do"

With The First Descendant Season 3 on the horizon, Nexon is addressing the free-to-play looter shooter's lack of updates right now.

The First Descendant developer Nexon its the free-to-play looter shooter feels quiet right now, but says this is because the team is fully focused on the Season 3 update. This is also why the studio is foregoing smaller rollouts in the lead-up to the new season, wanting instead to focus on what's to come. Not all hope is lost ahead of the new season, however, as Nexon is at least patching the game with some fixes and adjustments as Season 3 approaches.

"Lately, you may have found yourself thinking, 'There's not much to do in the game these days—has development come to a stop?' It's completely natural to feel that way during quieter times like this, and we truly understand and share those concerns," The First Descendant director Minseok Joo writes in a new open letter.

Players have been leaving the controversial nerfs earlier this year, and it looks like TFD has been struggling since.

This could change with Season 3, however, as Joo explains how Nexon is focusing on what's to come. "Right now, our team is fully focused on the development of the Season 3 update. There were discussions about having smaller and quicker updates in the meantime, but we ultimately decided that doing so might compromise the quality of Season 3. Rather than offering temporary fixes, we chose to concentrate our efforts on making Season 3 the best it can be.

"However, that doesn't mean we're leaving everything else behind while we work on Season 3," Joo continues. "We've been reviewing community , addressing issues, and preparing various improvements in order of priority—and we're steadily progressing toward the updates scheduled for May 22 and June 19."

As for what's coming up in The First Descendant, Nexon has a few plans. On Thursday May 15 you can expect a balance adjustment for Void Erosion Purge missions, removing penalties tied to skill attributes. Then on Thursday May 22 are the Dynamic Motion, Arche Tuning Socket, and Void Abyss Intercept Battle updates, with a four-week event also planned. Then, you can also expect a balance patch ahead of Season 3.

The First Descendant Season 3 changes

"The scale of our current updates may feel a bit modest, but we want to emphasize that each of these steps is part of laying the groundwork for a stronger and more complete Season 3," Joo says in closing. "We know that no one cares more about the current state of the game than those of you who continue to play our game each day. We're fully committed to living up to the trust you've placed in us."
