First-person shooters are some of the most immersive games you can play on PC, sliding you into the boots of a range of characters as they go to war, fight zombies, explore space, and go on all kinds of adventures. Whether you're dashing around, landing shots at 100 miles per hour, or you're slowly descending into the headquarters of criminal gangs, these FPS games are some of my favourites, and I heavily recommend adding them to your Steam library while they're discounted in the Fanatical sale.
I've played a lot of Ultrakill is my absolute favorite of the bunch, but there are loads of great choices, including loads that aren't in this list.
Here are my top recommendations from the Fanatical May Madness sale:

Ultrakill
There's a good reason that this chaotic, carnage-filled hack-and-slash games with an old-school '90s aesthetic, which is easy to learn, yet hard to master.
As you progress through the layers of Hell, you'll gain an arsenal that would make even the Doom Guy's arsenal look meek in comparison. You'll also learn the game's various mechanics, all in an effort to beat each level fast, as well as with a great style score to get that challenging P-Rank at the end of each mission.
Grab Ultrakill for $16.74 / £14.06 at Fanatical now.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
If you don't smile at the theme tune of Indiana Jones, are you even human? Well, no matter whether you're a fan of the archaeologist or not, Doctor Jones' latest adventure in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle makes for a brilliant FPS, one that balances action-adventure games with immersive sims effortlessly.
This globe-trotting journey will have you take on Nazis with your trusty whip and fists, as you decide between sneaking through enemy territory or facing them head on. At the heart remains a blockbuster experience that delivers everything a fan or a newcomer could hope for.
Grab Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for $48.29 / £41.39 on Fanatical now.

Ghostwire: Tokyo
While it's not a horror game in the same vein as Silent Hill, scaring you silly as you aimlessly walk down dark corridors, Ghostwire: Tokyo still gives me the willies. However, it's also criminally underrated, seeing you play as Akito, who is fatally injured but is saved and possessed by a spirit. Good timing, too, as Tokyo is now overrun with spirits and monsters inspired by Japanese Folklore that put up a good fight against you.
However, while the gameplay is similar to FPS games with shotgun or pistol-style attacks, the combat is focused on using spells that look awesome to fire at enemies, all while a gripping and occult narrative keeps you intrigued until the very end – and unsurprisingly, things aren't exactly what you'd expect under this unnerving plot.
Grab Ghostwire: Tokyo for $13.19 / £10.99 on Fanatical now.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Looking for something with a Cyberpunk vibe and a bunch of RPG elements? Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be just the thing. You play as Adam Jensen, an augmented human who exists between the divide of humans who remain biological, or 'augs', people who can afford and live with expensive augmentations.
Filled with political and military drama, alongside conspiracies and an undoubtedly grim world, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a brilliant experience that fans of the best RPGs will certainly enjoy. It gives you plenty of freedom to not only tackle situations how you see fit, but also witness a changing story that adjusts based on your actions.
Grab Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for $4.49 / £3.74 at Fanatical.

RoboCop: Rogue City
You'd be forgiven for thinking that the RoboCop franchise died years ago. The series of unequivocally '80s films were cheesy action romps that had a unique premise, but the 2014 reboot was so boring and silly that it felt like the spark was gone. Fortunately, RoboCop: Rogue City proves that Alex Murphy's story wasn't just a moment that could only be good almost 40 years ago.
RoboCop is slow and methodical, just as you'd expect from the augmented law enforcer, and while you can pick up other weapons, your trusty Auto 9 gun proves an effective and reliable way to mow down criminals. ittedly, it's still just as cheesy as you'd expect a game based on RoboCop to be, but it's a breath of fresh air with a familiar yet unique twist on the genre.
Grab RoboCop: Rogue City for $8.49 / £7.64 at Fanatical.
Those aren't the only FPS games on sale, but they're certainly my top picks. If you're looking for something else, I'd recommend checking out the Fanatical May Madness sale, which also has major discounts on RPGs, Steam Deck games, and more for a limited time.
In fact, while these FPS game sales may suit you, there are plenty of discounts on everything from the VR games, so make sure to check out the sale if you're looking for some more Steam titles.
