New Windblown update gives you more features to help dominate on your runs

Windblown's latest update is here in beta form, and it introduces some new mechanics to help you get even further on your roguelike runs.

Windblown is an early-access roguelike that just keeps getting better. The next game from Dead Cells developer Motion Twin, this time the focus is on tough-as-nails isometric combat you can play with friends. It's still in its infancy, sure, but every time I come back to Windblown when there's a new update, I enjoy it even more than last time. This is especially true of the latest beta patch, From the Leapers, where Motion Twin makes some comparatively smaller changes than we're used to.

For starters, you can finally choose which memories can show up in a roguelike game as you play, meaning you can hone in on what you want to try and get for each run.

Next up, Motion Twin has leveraged one of its best mechanics from Dead Cells to help you put your Windblown skills to the test. Each biome now has a timed chest at the end, which contains a special reward you can have if you get there quick enough. The more I've played Windblown, the better I've gotten at blitzing the early levels, so earning a bonus for being quick is really nice.

With the From the Leapers beta update, you can now also utilize the incentivized biomes mechanic. When you need to choose where to go next, this feature will offer more rewards for picking one area over the other, both enhancing your build capabilities and introducing a new wrinkle to how you play.

If you love outfits in videogames as much as I do, Motion Twin has also introduced even more ways to look good. The Bird, Rabbit, and Tiger skins are now available in the game, but you'll need to get pretty far into some challenging runs to unlock them. Lastly, the new patch also has some upscaling options using AMD FSR 1.0, and improvements to mouse aiming to enhance your accuracy.

Motion Twin has released the Windblown From the Leapers update beta on Steam now. Just click on properties and then betas on Valve's platform to get access to the new content, but don't forget to duplicate your save.
