Soviet city builder Workers and Resources steps back in time with next DLC

New Workers and Resources Soviet Republic DLC Early Start lets you begin the city-building game and Cities Skylines 2 rival decades sooner.

While Cities Skylines 2 hasn't quite lived up to the might of its predecessor yet, we've seen many great city builders stepping up to the plate. Among them, Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic is one of the finest. Boasting a purposeful sense of place, great supply-chain simulation, and serious, impactful decision making, it's earned a 91% Steam review score from players. Now, developer 3Division is taking us all back in time with a brand-new DLC.

New city-building game in either the 1930s, '40s, or '50s. It's packed with period-appropriate buildings, technology, and vehicles, along with the unique challenges and limitations of the respective eras.

That means an expanded focus on the coal industry, along with a revised tech tree fitting the starting period you choose. New structures will capture the architectural styles of the times, alongside more monuments to really set the mood. Your citizenry will be spotted making use of more than 90 additional vehicles, with a mixture of Soviet and NATO designs included across its whole cast of planes, ships, trams, trains, and cars.

3Division will release the Early Start DLC for Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic on Thursday May 22. You can wishlist it now to be kept up to date when it arrives.
